One Month of Playtesting.org
It’s been a month since Playtesting.org came back to life, and what a month it’s been! When I launched this blog on February 12th, my goal was simple: to dive deep into QuestWorlds, explore the mechanics, build a setting, and share my thoughts as I go. A month later, with a new post every two days, I’m thrilled with the momentum—and grateful to everyone who’s been reading along.
Over the past month, we’ve covered a lot of ground:
-
Kicking things off: Hello, QuestWorlds! marked the start, celebrating the official release of the QuestWorlds core rulebook and setting the stage for everything to come.
-
Building a setting: Perseverance: a space western setting for QuestWorlds introduced my homebrew world—a rugged frontier on the edge of the Terran Commonwealth.
-
Defining the world: We fleshed out the setting’s geography with Perseverance: The Planet and examined power structures in Who Rules Perseverance?.
-
Digging into character creation: The foundation for player characters took shape with Origin Keywords (Part 1 and Part 2), helping define where characters come from and what that means for their skills and reputation.
-
Exploring life on the frontier: Life in Perseverance painted a picture of survival, trade, and daily struggles.
-
Introducing factions: Power in Perseverance is anything but simple, and we took a closer look at its major players:
-
Defining what people do: Occupational Keywords (Part 1 and Part 2) set the stage for character professions, defining the skills, struggles, and identities of those who live on Perseverance.
-
Bringing it all together: Gameplay examples illustrated how Perseverance plays out at the table:
Looking ahead, there’s so much more to explore. I’ll be continuing with more gameplay examples, deeper mechanics, adventure hooks, and expanded community keywords.
The final goal? A full-fledged genre pack for QuestWorlds, complete with a polished PDF release on itch.io and DriveThruRPG.
Thanks for joining me on this journey! If you’ve been following along, let me know what’s caught your interest the most so far. And if you’re new, there’s no better time to jump in—there’s a whole month of content waiting for you.
Here’s to another month of playtesting, worldbuilding, and rolling the dice on adventure!
